Very public toilet.

The brief.

With the UK government pushing for the Investigatory Powers Bill, we helped the Open Rights Group educate people on the impact this will have on their privacy. Privacy that will be violated by a law that gives UK police and security agencies the authority to collect, analyse and look at everyone’s personal communications and internet use

The work.

Where is privacy more valued than in a public loo? That’s exactly why we used this scenario to dramatise the effect the bill will have on the privacy of everyday people doing everyday things. We installed a public toilet on a busy Friday afternoon in Brick Lane, London, to catch people unaware – just like Investigatory Powers Bill will do.

See what we can do for you.
